Dan has decades of experience, both in private practice and as in-house counsel. He has been practicing law since 1998 and has worked at large law firms, premier medical device companies including Medtronic and Coloplast, and smaller ventures, including start-ups.

Dan has decades of experience, both in private practice and as in-house counsel. He has been practicing law since 1998 and has worked at large law firms, premier medical device companies including Medtronic and Coloplast, and smaller ventures, including start-ups.
Most recently, Dan was a Principal Attorney at the General Counsel, Ltd., a Minnesota based law firm with a similar focus on providing exceptional attorneys with extensive in-house experience that allowed them to bridge the gap between traditional outside counsel an in-house attorneys.
Dan was previously Vice-President and General Counsel for Coloplast Corp., where he was responsible for all of the legal, Compliance and Intellectual Property matters of the company. He is a very practical, business-focused lawyer and was an active and engaged member of executive management; a leader within the organization, as well as a hands-on lawyer serving the business needs of the company.
Dan was responsible for handling a very extensive volume of litigation in the areas of product liability/mass tort, intellectual property (primarily patent), employment, and general commercial litigation. In addition, he successfully resolved numerous government investigations and conducted numerous internal investigations.
Dan worked across the organization, including internationally, and was heavily involved with all functional areas from management, marketing, sales, regulatory, R&D, product development, finance/business support, and operations.In addition to being the General Counsel, Dan was the Compliance Officer for a portion of his tenure and created

Dan has a strong background in Intellectual Property and leveraged the company's IP to advance business interests in numerous creative ways. Previously, Dan was Principal Counsel for Medtronic in their Cardiac Rhythm Disease Management division (now the Cardiac and Vascular Group). Prior to joining Medtronic, Dan spent 6 years in private practice with the firms of Dorsey & Whitney and Oppenheimer Wolff & Donnelly (now Fox Rothchild)
